We are used to and imagine trees in space, but there may be trees in time. Trees are remarkable in that they use dead generations of cells to elevate us, now living generations of cells.

Each of us is a descendant of many different processes inherited from different "trees". To become solid as an oak, to be meek and obedient like a river willow, to be sensitive like a cherry, to condemn everyone in a row like prickly blackthorn.

The main tree is the Tree of Life. This is a vine. The joy of life, the heady wine of joy. If there is no joy in life, then this is not life.

Each of us is a part of different trees in time, we stand on the shoulders of previous generations that are no longer with us in this space, but they remain forever in time.

When I read about trees in Eden, I see these trees, trees in time. And when I read the Apocalypse, then there about these same trees:

The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
